Scuba diving off of Welcome Inn reef on the south coast of Barbados Mike got a great shot of this Spotted Eagle Ray.

These rays are personally one of my favorite creatures. They can be seen year round, however they are more common off the north, east and south coasts of the island and are seen in small schools or as individuals typically from January through to March/April.  They are primarily mollusk eaters and therefore are most often ‘spotted’ on sand channels bordering the coral reefs.
